Discussion: EK running great at POM

Don't know about you all, but I'm impressed... check out the field at Portugal O Meeting - and check the Kempster's ridiculously amazing results - standing in 8th place after two days in a truly world class field.

Day 1 - 7th place (just 4 minutes behind Simone N)
Day 2 - 13th place (less than 90 seconds behind Simone)

Current standing after 2 days - 8th overall

And today she was leading the race at the third control! She had the pace for a top 5 result, but lost 3 min on control 6.

From the arena: Emily just through in new 2nd fastest time, about 5min behind Simone. She was looking very strong and has just a small loop left.

She looks like she's having too much fun.

She sure looks happy. She ought to with the success she's having. Seeing her CANADA jersey (I sure hope she has more than one of those. . .) gave me a fund raising idea. Send Emily a dozen or so shirts, have her wear each in a race, autograph it (before or after washing?), and then sell/raffle it off to the highest bidder. Who wouldn't want one?

Looks like 17th today based on preliminary results. Still extremely well, almost unbelievable actually considering she's still a junior and the level of competition. Two minutes faster and she would have been 6th.

Nice to see Holger in the mix again too.
