A great big Thank You needs to be send out to Neil Dobbs, The Breton Family, and The Osborn Family. Without their willingness to open their homes to the advance level juniors and the trainers from the 2012 NE Training camp there would have been no camp at all. Another big Thank you goes to Erin Schirm for planning all of the training exercises and then reworking them once we knew we were not going to be able to be at the Blue Mtn. Trail Lodge for the weekend. 20 advance level juniors were able to receive training along with group discussions of developing their orienteering plan; motivation and developing a training schedule as well as an individual coach to work with them.
Also thank yous need to go to Tim Parson, Mary Jo Childs, Jeff Saeger, Judy Karpinski, Bernie Breton, Dan Barker, Barb Bryant, and Joe Brautigam for giving up their weekend to be help with the training for the juniors. Also Lisa Breton for all of her help in the kitchen with me to feed the hunger group[.
A great weekend was had by All!
And thanks from the parents. Ethan said he had a great time.
Oh yeah! That's how I can tell he as having fun.
And Janet and Guy also deserve many thanks for pulling this together in a very short amount of time. It was a challenging and fun weekend!
Yep, and Janet and Erin did a fantastik job managing everything the weekend itself.
I had a great time. Erin did a great repetoire of trainings and discussions.
I would say that this was one of the best Junior camps I have observed. Neil's house was a perfect base. .
Bernie, you need to start petitioning HVO to rent Neil's house as a club house so that it is available for future training camps for all age groups. It was a great house for the small size group we had and then the addition of help from you and the Osborn's with additional housing it really made the weekend go great. Thanks to all volunteers involved in the weekend. No matter what Erin, Neil and I pulled together without you all it would not have happened.
Thank you, guys, for nice training and accomodation
Thanks a lot every one the weekend was great! Lots of good training and i hope we can do more training like this in the following months. Erin did a great job on the trainings making sure they pushed to to be better orienteers.
Thanks tp, but Neil, Janet & Bernie really spearheaded the salvage operation that became the camp; Erin re-did many of his planned exercises to be closer to Neil's place. I was just the messenger.
Thinking about a WYO camp to make it up to the non-advanced kids who could not take part. Where, when, who...
Neil and Dan, thanks for sharing the pictures. (Dan, I especially enjoyed the videos of the "plyometric" session.)
Erin did an amazing job. Especially when you consider that he probably had designed all the training exercises to start from the lodge. I'm sure he had to scramble to adjust for the new location.
