I have not heard of it, sounds like it's worth checking out if you both like it that much.

It's a good climb when you have young kids with you, otherwise you can skip it. Although it is part of the Superior Hiking Trail, so if you travel this section of the trail you will pass within a few meters of the summit.

Is that the whole area south of Spirit Mountain?

I have spent some days rock climbing there. A nice high point on the way to Duluth. Well worth the short hike.

pfc...yes that is the area that is south of Spirit mountain ...didnt the Wild 24 hour climb near it a few years back...near the old railway tunnel?.....its a nice little short hike with up with a view from a rock dome...
