I always thought the Attackpoint website black background was cool, and now black is the new green.

I hate to tell ya but your thread is way too cheerful for AP these days, not enough negativity, personal attacks, radical views, etc. That's my best guess why there have not been any other comments yet... Interesting article otherwise.
Oh good, now the comments can roll on in.
Each Attackpoint post about Balter uses -1.2 W / cm^2 of monitor screen area. Posts by Balter use - 2.1 W / cm^2.

Well my best guess is that, thanks to the article above, we all now realize that every white word we write eliminates some of the energy-saving black a/p screen on thousands of monitors around the world! I wonder how much total wattage each word we write requires?
What Clark says is that it´s probably better with black letters on a black background.
Back when color monitors were first available, but most of the work that I was doing was still just editing text on the screen, I used to set up my monitor like this to reduce the amount of light coming off the screen to reduce eyestrain. Which is okay in a dark room. Despite the fact that I'm colorblind and can't see red very well.
I got eyestrain and headache just reading the above 3 posts. Earth day was yesterday, now we can all go back and start "wasting" again.
The mentioned article says that only if your still using a CRT you will save energy on black websites. But the question is this: Are you wasting more energy by buying a new LCD (that must be produced) or by using the old CRT?
(Ok, the question is a bit outdated ...)
