so basically was the idea to do as many laps as possible before the midnight cut off?

Sort of, although 7 laps was just over marathon distance which was the target. Hopefully might be held again next year and I should be in shape to go the whole distance. Think 3:30 would be achievable with a bit more training.

yeah in interesting race, shame they only decided to do it two weeeks and got buggar all entries! Think thats it fairly unique and could build in the future, maybe include a relay category.

It did include a relay category! But I guess the fact you didn't know that emphasises your other point.

Yeah I think it is a good concept and great location for it.
