I am delighted to announce that we have the finances for the Western Mass 5-Day wrapped up, and we will be making a donation to the Ski-O Team of $6,700. I'm sure this will help in sending a team to the 2013 World Champs in Kazakhstan.
Thanks are due to NEOC for agreeing to this so willingly, to the ski-O community for all their help in organizing the event, and especially to Alex and Ali, both for their substantial commitments of time and energy to make this happen, and also for the inspiration to have the event that they generated by their amazing performances on the world level the last couple of years.
And thanks also to all who participated and made this donation possible.
Good luck to the team in 2013.

A formal thank you on behalf of the Ski-O Team ESC. Very significant for the Team to generate its own funding, which in turn can justify further support from OUSA. If we want help from others, we must first do what we can to help ourselves.

A big thank-you on behalf of the club and board of NEOC. Peter and the Amherst crew put this meet together virtually single-handedly, and came to the board with a complete plan asking only for a go-ahead and token support. Certainly lots of people from the club chipped in - particularly Joanne Sankus and Jim Paschetto - but the club supported Peter's tour de force. Everyone in the region benefited from a high quality weekend of orienteering. It's not often that someone approaches you with a gift-wrapped A-meet to add to the schedule.

Yes, from the ski-o team, many thanks to PG and the whole crew! The races were excellent, and the support for next winter is incredible.
