Hey,
We got a mail from a well-known reporter looking to do story about orienteering, and there's a good chance he'll be going to the HVO event in Rockhouse on Sunday.
Will there be any US team-type people present, or that could make the trip? Others that he should meet? Suggestions here or mail me.
I hear Balter will be there too.
But which one will be wearing a Moldavian O-top?
are you going to encourage the reporter to sign up for a rec course?
and let him get lost in the woods, ... yes! the plan is finally working! poor bear will have food.
are you going to encourage the reporter to sign up for a rec course?
It's a local event. All the courses are "rec" courses. :-)
So a rec course is defined by how far in advance people sign up, only? And not also by difficulty?
which well known reporter is coming?
you probably don't know him
Does he write for Grantland?
oh yeah, I know him. He's well-known. Looking forward to meeting him in person.
"Rec course" is a relative term. Typically used at A-events, it denotes the non-competitive (no awards, no ranking points), day-of-race entry, alternative. At local events, those characteristics are the norm, hence no separate distinction.
Once the article runs can you send me the link? gjs@orienteeringusa.org. Thanks
I volunteer to lose this guy in the woods.
We can't compete with a zombie run. The reporter should stay home.
