acejase: congrats Blair. not many people can say they have run that in their life and have the documentation to prove it! well done.

TheInvisibleLog: Stunning in o so many ways

Tyson: Well done blair, that is a brilliant effort.

robw: Yep congrats Blair that is awesome!

#  Posted 2007-02-07 16:41:36
Reubster: Nice effort, pitty about the surroundings! It will probably be flooded the next time I see it.

Bruce: When are you going in for your service? Do you feel like you need a new oil filter or spark plugs? Well done.

#  Posted 2007-02-08 08:38:52
Tooms: I'd say you're due for a Level 1 service then, or a grease and oil change at the very least. Judging by the training log most of the ks have been country driving so the engine probably has a bit of life left in it yet. Maybe splurge and get the bodywork touched up?

acejase: Blair what was your record for days in a row running ? and how was it ended?

#  Posted 2007-02-08 11:57:07
blairtrewin: 2388 days from June 1990 to December 1996 - ended by an ankle problem (not an especially serious one but enough to stop me for a week or so).

I'd like to think I had quite enough mechanical work done on me between 80,000 and 100,000k not to need any further repairs for a while, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Craig: I'm curious, what is the year by year breakdown?

#  Posted 2007-02-08 13:31:14
phatmax: Glad you have kept all the records. Next time my wife accuses me of being obcessive logging my training on attackpoint I think of it more as the work of an organised mind. A truely impresive feat.

#  Posted 2007-02-08 14:17:58
rambo: Good work Blair - pretty bloody impressive. Of course, all of us who haven't logged our kilometres probably passed the 100 000 mark years ago ;-)

#  Posted 2007-02-09 01:23:12
Reubster: I'm not sure the bike km's count Rambo! At one run a week it is going to take you a while.

#  Posted 2007-02-09 14:35:02
liggo: How far to go until you get to the moon ?

#  Posted 2007-02-09 14:50:25
AJ: he'll have to live to 130, and that's if it coincides with the moon's perigee (smart talk for when its closer)

#  Posted 2007-02-09 15:28:13
Scammell: Good work Blair,
Very impressive sucessive day record..

(mine is about 5 :(

blairtrewin: In answer to Craig's question, the year-by-year breakdown (since I started training vaguely seriously):

1985 1725
1986 2365
1987 3280
1988 3719
1989 4207
1990 4646
1991 5233
1992 5831
1993 5711
1994 5875
1995 6039
1996 5844
1997 5880
1998 6271
1999 5943
2000 4195
2001 4867
2002 1142
2003 2797
2004 4241
2005 4625
2006 4963

I was injured for most of the period from late 2001 to erly 2003 (compartment syndrome), as well as Sep-Oct 2000 (foot stress fracture), Feb-Mar 2001 (back), Aug-Sep 2004 (ankle) and Jan-Feb 2005 (broken arm).

Would be interesting to know how many people have actually run the distance to the moon. My guess is not many - if you averaged 200km/week for 25 years (which is the ballpark I'd expect someone like Steve Moneghetti would be in) that still only gets you two-thirds of the way.
