| jazz: | Very impressive today. I overheard the coach saying "he's back", does this mean you've been slacking off a bit in the pool? |

| Tooms: | I can see this won't be a short answer due to GUILT and empty attempts to Justify Behaviour... Boltboi, Thurs is easily explained - that's Jazz's fault, she's come along motivated, fit and fast - with a whole heap of mirrors, set them up all around me and forced me to take A Good Long Look At Myself. What did I see - MEDIOCRITY. I have though begun to get a bit quicker each Weds night so I can see light at the end of the tunnel in terms of my running!
Jazz, the swimming, well, what can I say. Yes Ross knows I could go faster before and don't seem to any more. Occasionally I swim a fast couple of reps but the carefree desire to hurt all through the session hasn't returned yet. Nor has the swim-fitness to do it!! Time to actually live-up to all the bloody long-memories that everyone has - it gets frustrating at times, just because you could do it before everyone assumes you can still do it. The fact that that was when I was part-time at uni/work and was training 3x a day seems to be overlooked - twice a day is all I can fit in now, but I'm going to do that for the rest of this year and see if I can get some decent fitness back... Hold me to it!! |

| Boltboi: | Ah, the good old days..... werent they just last year???
Well Tooms being a nobody like me means i can lose weight perform above average, get injured put on weight become a FOF perform below average and consistantly circulate between the two with no high expectations!! The high side of doing the training is the ability to go out on the bike, in the pool and out on the tracks and see all the other motivated young fillies who think the same way! I noticed this morning at Riverton that schools have started Swim training for their upcoming carnivals. The coach from Corpus Christi made me concentrate on my glide during my efforts in lane 1. |
