| PostyMJ: | The olympic comittee would've been in fits of laughter over people's different styles of walking...too many interpretations going on |

| blairtrewin: | Sounds a bit like the power walking class at Melbourne street-O - if any officials turned up the red disc would be waved with some regularity.
I assume there was a control on the walk-only section? (it's easily avoidable otherwise if I recall correctly). |

| Rachel: | There were 5 controls on the walk only section so I think you had to run a long way extra to avoid it. |

| Tooms: | And Jazz and I did our best to avoid it - we walked to two of them, felt silly and wanted to run so we hightailed it back out onto the cyclepath ran past the two other 'walk' controls and picked up two in the bottom corner of the map! Felt better to be running than strolling tho... |

| fletch: | Is there still a walkers class on the short course? I remember discussing the fact (years ago) that the walkers category was for people who didn't run with a certain veteran female who had won the course only to be told that she considered a walker because "she walks most of the time"... |

| Rachel: | Our walk class and "dog" class were a novelty that only lasted one or two seasons. I think we decided the walk was too controversial after several of the "walkers" were seen jogging. |

| PostyMJ: | My mum jogs but still goes at the pace of a walker ;) |

| Tooms: | So do a few other people's mums (and sisters) who were seen running out there!!! |
