The outcome of this years General Assembly will have a high impact on the future of Orienteering. Two guys running for President is not often seen, if ever before?
But this election is not only about who will become IOF president, but also on how should the IOF work in the Future. Being present at most international events during many year, it seems like many current IOF council and committee members has lost their connection the Orienteering Community. Only looking at foot-o, it seems like no-one in the IOF is really interrested in listning to runners or coaches. Many decisions are made by people far away for the real world.
Now the WOC is on for real, and the VIP area is full of so-called IOF VIPs, but why are they not present at World Cups, ROCs etc? only a very few very present at EOC earlier this year. and it seems like they lack interest in including runners or coaches in the development of orienteering. It smells a bit of nepotism, but of cause the food is great in the VIP-area as usual.

The future of Orienteering shoul be led by visionary people with close relations to runners, coaches and others performing orienteering.

There might be some good points here but mapreader why are you hiding yourself? It cuts your credibility to nothing.
But as far as being at all the events on the extensive IOF calendar remember that IOF council members are real people living in a real world with real jobs to do and real families to please and for the most part supported by the limited budget of their national federation.
They just cannot be everywhere.

Really. At least when I'm a jackass, which is most of the time, everyone knows who I am, and can get in my face at races (if I ever go, which I don't often, cause they cost more, but continue to decline in quality (at least stateside), and us economists have to act rationally, don't we?).

Well, at least he's/she's not sammy, the ultimate AP coward. Or maybe (s)he is? Who knows?

sammy is clever, but consistent, and never tried that hard to employ effective liguistic cloaking. So, mapreader <> sammy, but Kripke would at least give some points for the moniker.
