You didn't miss much on day 3. The map was nowhere near good enough to make a fair race. We had a 100m leg (no 7) which was slightly downhill and the fastest split was over 2 mins. Many people (me incl) lost far more time as the map was complete fiction. I'm sure the White Rose will be better than that!
I wondered what was going on. I often feel that Winsplits displays give a very visual clue about the quality of an event. In this case several day 3 courses look blotchy in very abnormal places. Several legs gave 'errors' for even the top people which should tell the officials something ......
At least the White Rose maps and planning will be good !
i have my dad's word that there are some "lovely" bits of forest too! i can't see it being much rougher than the WOC terrain anyway :-) i wish i was going!
you mean there's some orienteering at the White Rose and it's not just a p*ss up?
We should adapt that strap line for the October Odyssey - "not much rougher than WOC terrain"
