That's pretty pathetic that the smaller sizes only come in dinky "feminine" colours.

Since when is lime green feminine? I was expecting to see pink. And heck, that'd match my girly socks.

There is apparently a pink version, the reviewer just didn't have it.
Ordinarily, I'm right there with ya re. the girlie colors -- I *hate* them and I hate it when the men's version has better colors. But I actually like lime green. :-) And I love that they have a smaller version. I keep breaking the bands on my FR 405 because I have to have it at its tightest to fit, and that apparently stresses it.

Has anybody found a link to the sampling rate that these new Garmins have?

Oh and I like the lime green too.

While I haven't seen the colours (cant see twitter at work) must admit I'm going off basic black.

Everything I have is black or dark grey. Ever gone away for an O weekend and looked for something in your bag? I can never find my stuff as it is just one black mess (undies, shirts, netbook, garmin watch, glasses case). Now I'm starting to buy various colour items so that they stand out and are individually visible.

BTW, my 405 died this weekend and to be truthfull I've never found it to be very good. Maybe I had a lemon but it sucked at finding sats (was OK once it did) and the battery has been dodgy a while now and considering its limited use and relatively expensive price tag I find that I might question buying another one of their products.

I don't think I've ever heard anything good about the 405.

On the upside, I now know more than I ever wanted to about the colour of leepback's undies.

My 305 keeps on running..........
Put stuff in baggies to keep it separated in the black hole.

I like that it's small(er than the 305) and that it acquires satellites fast(er). Other than that, you're right, it doesn't get much love. I'd like to get a new watch with 1-second recording, but the money tree we planted on the balcony needs a longer growing season than what we have in Norway.

I just packed for a golf, tennis, lawn bowls, petanque, trivia and orienteering boys weekend away (we are equally crap at all of these) and once again my bag is the usual black hole. Might use coach's idea of baggies.

Sadly I wont have a working GPS but interested to hear how this new model performs. I never used any of the bells and whistles of my old one (HR etc) so a cheaper model offering less functions might be a good fit but as I said, I'm wary of Garmin.

The color won't matter when it is covered in tape.

FR305 is still the best one they've made, IMO, and they are still making them, 6+ years on, as a result. I'd love a smaller/thinner version of this, if Garmin could make a thin one w/o issues like fancy-but-slow-UI, poor-wireless-download, weak-wrist-band, etc..

Actually, the 305 was recently discontinued and is becoming harder and harder to find. All of their watches seem to have ongoing issues, which you can read about on web forums. I think Garmin should focus more on improving their existing products, not inventing new ones.

I really like my 305 but recently I have to keep deleting the history or it doesn't download and freezes my laptop. It is over 5 yrs old....

My 305 lasted about 3 years, including two long ocean swims (pretty good for a watch that isn't waterproof...) The speaker died early on, the watch ended up being held together with a zip tie after the glue failed, but it still worked until the battery life was down to 20 minutes. It had a pretty hard life. :)

Pretty impressed with the 910 so far - lots of bells and whistles of course, but also just seems nice and solid.
