thanks for the kind words Justin. Yeah, I am looking forward to the race. I have never run the entire Birkie trail. National CXC ski team is based up there so some of those guys race too in training for the ski season, so should be some decent comp. I am not going to hold back on training though as Whistlestop is the goal marathon.

Yeah, I hear you on the treadmill. You and I are in the same boat where you just learn to embrace it. I stay away from it other than for workouts, during summer, spring, and fall, but I actually like it in the winter and do almost everything on it. Plus I like to get a good sweat and not have to put on lost of clothes.

I don't have the opportunity to run with anyone because no one in Pueblo is fast enough so the TM has become my training partner. It at least keeps me going at the workout pace and it teaches me to stay focused on the workout by not doing the first half too fast. Usually not the best time but it gets the job done.

That right there is the best justification for TM work I've ever heard. Beyond that I agree with the dreadmill concept...
