I order a pair of XR Mission yesterday but look like you just use them for shorter run and the Crosmax for longer run.??
I'm still figuring out what I like to do with the XR Mission. They are build like a road running shoe with quite a rocker step and an hour glass foot print, but they definitely aren't a soft shoe. I think they are best on relatively non-technical trail running. They are a bit harsh on road running. I do most of my running on the road where the Crossmax are perfect.
I've done a few races in the XR Missions, they are definitely nice, but they are a bit unstable on the technical stuff and stiff for the road stuff.
The Crossmax just don't have the tread for the technical stuff, nor are they built very well for wet stuff. They are better than a lot of shoes, but they aren't like the rest of the trail running line from Salomon.
