In the long race results I saw Bruce Beesley's name (28th place!) and Stuart Poole (255th). Bruce is a current member but Stuart hasn't been around lately (I don't think I've seen him since the 2010 A-meet).
It was a man and woman I think, didn't get a good look though.
John and Marcy Beard do more adventure races than orienteering but they've been to a few of our events. Fred Pilon and Colette V. were also there but live in MA, so I haven't figured out who else it might be.
Hmm. Detective work. You need to know who is dedicated enough to have a O marker car ornament AND was on the results list! So somewhere in dedication level between me (no car ornament except SI stick in the glove box) and the H-Ts (dedicated license plates).
Darn it, I yelled "Go Doug" when I saw Bruce out on the course. I am terrible with names.
They might not be in the results list if they were supporting a family member (like you).
Oh yes, and we call rule out Brennan because he was somewhere out at mile 10+ making sure oxygen-deprived half-marathoners didn't run down a road instead of staying on-course.
Could be from another club, too! The intrigue deepens.
Another clue: they were in a red/maroon Tracker, not sure if Geo or Chevy.
Something to watch for at the club champs?
Tell Stacey she finished one place behind our County Executive.
Hey, I think it was the Beards! I met them at the Tawasentha meet but those pictures helped.
Frank -- I wish I had known, I would have towed her along the last 1/2 mile to gain the requisite 30 sec. We could have played it off as a tow truck costume, right?
