Awesome!!! Looks like this is very close to where the WOC middle distance final was last summer. Will any of the races be on the WOC maps? I remember one of the public races was on part of a ski area at la Givrine. Which of the tour races are the WREs and which are the WCs?

Greg posted a photo of Ali preparing her pre-race breakfast of scrapple. Look at the size of that roll of toilet paper in the background!

All of these are WRE's. World Cups are only held in non-WOC years.

Interesting that Ali doesn't have her skis like the others. Maybe she could leverage this for some ski sponsorship

Nev-Monster:
Ali's probably better off not to be sponsored by Peltonen.

Ali 6th today, less than 3 minutes behind the leader. Another great race.

In the race in which Ali was third - what on earth did the winner do on the first leg? Took 1:37 out of Ali on that leg, and she was only 1:24 ahead at the finish. Same with the winner's splits versus second second place - first leg difference was 1:28 but final difference was only 0:12.

In her log, Ali says most of the women had a mistake on 1. I guess the winner didn't. (it was mass start)

Has anyone found a link to any course maps??

I'm still looking to get my race maps back -- they're kind of disorganized on that point.

Another 3rd for Ali in today's long in Switzerland! Two minutes back on the tied first place Russian women:

Map from Sunday's sprint in Le Fort des Rousses. Note that after climbing from the bottom of the ski jump (the start gate was at the very bottom) to the first control, the best route to the second -- particularly for the women whose first was further north -- was down into the moat and around the ramparts. Quite a neat sprint for ski-o!

A couple other shots from the organizer's Facebook page.

Men's start Saturday in the fog. Adrian in the back left and Greg back right:

These photos are sweet! Does the touchless punch work with regular BSF7 units? 8s?
Jan 9, 2013 6:22 AM #
AliC:
No, they are totally different units, look more like EMIT bricks actually and are worn on the wrist instead of finger. Unlike touch-free EMIT, they have a beep, which continues to sound for a few seconds after the punch. They also have a light, but that is currently of varying quality on the units.
