Did you really beat me by just 1 minute? I may have to check the official results. Not that they could be figured out. I am sure your punch card desintegrated. |

| iriharding: | Yes it was quite fast at Battle Creek ... a lot of trail running and possible straight line stuff (with the buckthorn not having leafed out yet and relatively small hills). For me it was almost a 8 km sprint (with all the little route / trail choice decisions popping up every 75 meters). I taped my punch card so thoroughly back and front that it was difficult to punch through ! |

| pfc: | Even with the clear tape, the water started to seep into my card (the punch holes no doubt.) It was wet enough to disintegrate by the end, but the tape held it together.
Unless we're using tyvek, I'd always want to strengthen the punch card somehow. |

| Jerritt: | I have been using the punch card holder I bought at some meet. It works great. One loop around the finger and then a hairband looped around my wrist. Mine stayed mostly dry. Can't say the same about the maps. They got wet while I was copying them and started bleeding pretty good. |
