are they making you wear the Hagtlofs things for racing, or do you have free reign?

Well, I was planning on wearing the Haglofs ones if it was dry as I think I'd be fastest in them/legs would take so much less pounding on the edge paths! I'm very impressed with them as a trail shoe that can hack a lot more than trail.

However....it is not dry....not dry AT ALL! I'm not even sure mudclaws will stop you sliding if its like yesterday...

mudclaws were fine today, and Todd fared well in Xtalons - i'll be wearing 212s. If it was dry could easily get away with trail-based shoes (not that I'd feel at all racey!)

Good to know! Now hopefully the conditions won't change to snow drifts by Sunday.... And you'd only not feel racey because you haven't found the right trail shoe yet :-P To me the haglofs fit feels close enough to a racing fell shoe....(well maybe bar the x-talon as there really is no support there...)just the tread thats a wee bit different

It's snowed up here today so I'm starting to brace myself for 2007 conditions... time to find the potentially-compulsory survival bag...
