Who normally lusts after you? I know, it's the lycra-clad bloke with the skinny calves and glasses isn't it? ;-)

You have mistaken me for one of those big muscley fellows obviously, easy done. I haven't done much 'getting massive' of late. It's lost its lustre.

Oh lies I bet your one of the skinny tall guys who consumes protein shakes by the bucket load expecting that will get them massive and either nothing happens or they get fat. And because of that you've given up... Guess Jen will never get you in the body she wants ...

I used to go to a gym every second day, back at uni. But there was never any talent. :( All just FOB's.

My tri coach made me gym it for a year - I got 30% stronger at the exercises I was doing but no increase in muscle size or body weight. Perfect really - more ripped, lean and no (or so it seemed) better at swimming or riding.

How you measure your riding is different. Your speed may have not increased but your ability to go further would have (slightly) more noticeable if you looked for it would be recovery.

Your right that's ideal minimal mass gain but strength and conditioning.

Gawd, you sound like a guy on my FB list who's all "omg lifting weights is perfect for EVERYTHING except marathon running. EVERYTHING I SAY." I laugh at him a lot and invite him out for long runs.

Yep and its place is often somewhere near the swimming pool, coincidentally two places best avoided :-)

Funny whenever I stop swimming and look at the people running on treadmills in the gym, or lifting weights it just reminds me of 1) fish in a bowl and 2) hamsters on the wheel. Meanwhile I can be a 'shark' in my lane and chase people down - unless they have snorkels, fins or superior swim technique. :P (That's pretty much everyone except the kid that thinks its funny to jump into your lane unexpectedly and then shrieks when you swim into/over him)

It looks like you've 'stopped swimming' for quite some time now.
