Ricka: I found a loose CR map in the house and looked at Green 1-2 and Red 1-2 while running in Forest Park.

I try to disciplince myself to use the CART system: Control, Attack Point, Route, Tempo. At my pace and ability, I pretty much ignore Tempo ("red" light; Yellow lght; Green light is a method of addressing tempo)

Green 1-2: Control: Small feature on bland hillside. The base of hill is catching feature, but depression is 1 contour above it.

Attack Point: On right, the upper reentrant junction and/or the rock face just below it.

Route: Up to right through saddle - perhaps use this minute+ to plan leg 2-3. Down to first re-entrant junction; proceed just a bit to rock face; bearing and rough pace count over spur to feature.

Red 1-2: Same Control circle analysis of course. The safest route, which might be nice in beginning of course, is the Green method, above. Slightly more direct but riskier is to the left. From left, no firm Attack point though. (I wouldn't go over the top nice the top is flat and featureless.) If the map weren't 20 years old, the veg boundary and Yellow on left would be realiable. On current map, I'd 'look for' those features to check off but my major objective would be to 'Aim Left' of control, hoping to see the small distinct reentrant left of control. If I miss it, I go to edge of hill and turn right.
