I have been asked to run a leg in the Veteran´s Relay - don´t know if I 'have to' yet. I´d rather just watch...
I noticed that there is also an Italian team (
skodeg-o.com) entered for the first time ever (?). AP'ers Dalen and map4_de are running 6th and 8th leg on that team.
I think IFK Bömbarda has run Tiomila a couple of times. I think it's an italian "temporary club" only used for running abroad.
warti - leg 1
naomi - leg 9
kungen - ?
BorisGr >> According to the official line-ups on 10-mila website Marc´s running 7th leg, but I guess that could have been changed...
Yeah, i noticed that too. Sandra told me Marc's running 10th. Blame her! :)
Well, the teams were announced several days ago and things may have changed - they´re never absolutely final...
Good luck Boris and all others, see you tomorrow?
For all those of you who are following Tiomila online -
this is a mix of old maps of the competition area that I found on
alternativet.se. Could be interesting for you to get a little picture of what the much disputed terrain is like...
I'm not up on the controversy regarding map/terrain. Is there a discussion in English or could you briefly summarize it?
swisscheese is running the 7th leg... sorry I was wrong.
kungen - IK Hakarpspojkarna, 3
warti - OK Tyr, 1
naomi - NTNUI, 10
enjoy...
According to the results from the first radio there are two Rob Walters out there, one running for Malungs and one for Delta. Somehow I suspect something isn't quite right (although both of them are in the top 20 so so far so good).
A big sport watching morning - I've got the TV on in the corner with the cricket in Barbados (or to be more accurate rain falling in Barbados).
Looks like they've fixed it up on the second and subsequent radios, although I don't think Rob would be too happy with the way things are going at the moment (99th at radio 4, 6 minutes down).
and what a farce in the cricket, is it a requirement to be a nutcase to be an international umpire?
There don't seem to have been any new results come through on the website since Radio 4 - is there a problem with the results feed, or has bad light stopped play at Tiomila too?
Looks like the 'live' results are only updating every 30 minutes or so. 9 teams in the lead group at the moment (early on leg 3) with Bakkelagets leading.
Heading out for a run now - for the first time in a very long time it's actually going to be a wet one.
Must be the right time to go out for a run, I just returned from mine, I was going to go at 7.30 with the running group, but with the debacle unfolding at the cricket, I had to delay my departure.
Now it is time to catch up with TioMila
Can anyone get the video stream to work? I can only get a blank box....
....I got it working with my laptop with Windows Media Player 7, but not on my PC with Windows Media 10, and all firewalls down. I don't know why, but at least I can see it now.
Still it doesn't help much if you don't know Swedish!
Bakkelagets now 4 minutes in front early on leg 5.
I had a lot of trouble with older computers usng wireless (wifi). My oldest computer works with ethernet (connected to a cable modem), but my newest laptop with built-in wifi is working the best.
Do you have the right software installed? It says Windows Media Player 9 or higher (although my oldest computer was working fine with version 6). Go figure.
Big shift at the latest radio - Bakkelagets have dropped to third after losing about 6 minutes. Halden SK in front with Goteborg-Majorna (with Shep as anchor) in second.
I was having trouble following the long night.
What was the GPS bobble (?) they showed during the interview?
Was that track for leg 6? (Edit---Whoops leg 5)
One of the finishers just now had a headlamp with two separate lamps---one for running and one for reading the map. I've never seen one of those.
Something like that?

Well, it looks like more as a spare lamp to read the lamp in case they break the big one - but no dual use.
It's not about tiomila but about lamps: I've seen on of veterans using tiny lamp for map reading and 'normal' halogen for lighting the terrain. it doesn't blind up your eyes that bad i guess..
