Discussion: Course: Maps and the Geospatial revolution

There is a free MOOC (massively open online course) called Maps and the Geospatial Revolution. The class starts today and lasts five weeks. The course can be found at https://www.coursera.org/course/maps. Right now there are about 30,000 people registered for the course and they are mostly talking about maps in the associated discussion forums. I started a discussion forum about the future of orienteering given that GPS mapping has reduced people's need to navigate using a map.

I'm taking this too! The Coursera courses I've taken have all been pretty good.
