Yeah. I was a bit concerned about the fact that the doctor said I needed one until I found out how many fit people I know had had to have one. In may case, I went in for a routine check-up and the nurse found a heart rate of 36. That sent me for an EKG, which reported 54, but with "a blip". Monitor goes back in an hour and I'm not sure how long until I find out the results. Meanwhile, the stickiness from the leads remains.

I think it would have been interesting to wear it while running a race Saturday, but I had left the day free (unnecessarily) to prep for the local Score-O. (My 24 hours were also up a bit past 9 a.m.)

Oh, all the cool kids are having Holter Monitor tests. ;) I had one 10 years ago and another one this winter. Both times I made a point of doing some exercise since that seems to be a trigger for occasional arrhythmia. The one 10 years ago showed premature ventricular beats, which are common and harmless. The recent one got a lot more air time on my AP log because it "revealed" an EKG irregularlity that is normally harmless anyway and in the end was probably the result of the electrode being placed slightly off position. Either way, it was still good to know that things seem to be working.

Getting tested for anything is nervewracking but I always remind myself that the test doesn't change what is going on in my body - and if anything bad were going on, I'd rather know sooner than later to give it a better chance of getting fixed.
