Swampfox:
Course setting is complete for one of the signature races of Laramie Daze: the One Cowboy Relay.

This year's relay will again feature 5 loops with the first 4 loops taken in motala style, for a total distance of 5.5 kms. The race takes place in primo terrain in portions of the Forrest Meadows map. As compared to the 2012 One Cowboy Relay, this year's race will have about the same level of technical difficulty. Unfortunately, however, there will not be as much sage, and runners will just have to deal with that fact and accept it as being one of the vicissitudes of life. Despite the map being one of the oldest and earliest of the Laramie Range maps, it has held up very well and remains as entirely race worthy as it was when it was featured in the Middle Distance event of the 2004 Team Trials.

As always with the One Cowboy Relay, there is a danger it could be too much fun, especially in a terrain as fine as this, so racers should use the remaining 4+ weeks until the race start to train to be as grim and emotionally flat as possible.
