Orienteering is marching forward with technology... from the IOF this morning:
"The IOF Council has decided to provisionally approve the use of the 2013 version of the Emit touch free punching system, and any subsequent versions of the same system, at foot orienteering World Ranking Event level. The provisional approval will be valid for 2 years. In order to get final approval for use of this system at World Ranking Events, Emit can submit a further application to the IOF after a 12-month period. More information concerning the IOF punching system approval process can be obtained on this page: http://orienteering.org/electronic-punching/."
