I didn't follow you down the hill there near 6. Interesting route choice to 8. That was a challenging leg.

to be honest I think it would have been a lot faster for you. the ground was practically yellow and the creeks distinct I pretty much knew where I was the whole way there I am so annoyed I missed it would have been a super quick leg even with my walking stints!

I hit the two granite perfectly which was roughly the plan I just took wrong angle out of the granite which seems to be a common mistake of mine - if I had the trace you would see I was pretty much right on it and messed it up.

If you have a look of it from back down past 6 was down hill and open - I was moving at a reasonable pace when I went past you, it only got easier from there and its 1 contour line the whole way to the point. there was only 1 small section of medium green I hit between the two granite's which I am sure could have been avoided.

Gutted because I was pretty positive up until this point then started second guessing myself a lot more.

Would have been interested to have seen how fast that route would have been on someone fit! - incidentally how was straight line it looked like there was alot of crappy bush that way? and dropping down the the sloped granite like the others was my second preferred option - I wanted out of the thicket around 7 as fast as possible!

Clearly a well-set leg - JG is already showing 3 distinct route choices from the four traces, plus Bryce's wide-left option.

The yellow option was definitely quite runnable for the most part - the green stripey/medium green was less significant than I expected. Bit surprised that Craig took that leg with the straight-line option, be interesting to see where Fenry and Thomas went. Do either of them run with a GPS?

It was fast running all the way on the straight line from 7-8. I suspected that from what I saw going 5-6 but it was largely just instinct to go up onto the flatter ground to get off the slope as soon as possible. Henry said the same thing. He went the same way as me but drifted right at the end and lost a bit of time. I did discuss it with Tomas too but I can't remember what he did. Straight would definitely have been the fastest route.

fair enough - I thought it was going to be scrubby and I saw the west was clear so legged it hard downhill and then across. with a limited climb at the end - but if it was pretty clear your route would have been faster and more direct.

I can't upload my GPS trace atm, but straight was fast to 8. There was a distinct gap between the top of the clearings and the green stripe, with even a couple of animal tracks through it. I had planned on dropping into the clearings, but left the control in what seemed the clearest running, and it was clear the whole way, so kept going straight.

I thought I saw some animal tracks too, but maybe they were just fletch tracks
