I'm new to this site and am challenged downloading from my Forerunner 305. It is immediately recognized and it shows progress for the download initially and then the progress bar hangs. When I try to terminate the download I get a message saying that Garmin Plug-In May have stopped running. Other times It's quickly displayed the date list from the Forerunner.

Appreciate any help with this!! (Not sure it matters but I'm using a PC with Windows 7 Professional.)

I had the same issue and found that if I delete the history stored in the watch on a regular basis (after uploading them) it uploads the tracks much quicker.
In the watch you have the option to delete all history, all but the last 3 months and all but the last month. If you have a recent track you're trying to upload I'd just delete all but the last month and try again. Of course if you're trying to upload all of you data you might be out of luck.

I've had the same problem of it hanging in mid transfer . I clean out everything in the Garmin 305 memory except for the last 24 hrs . If it hangs during transfer you have to close out your web browser and start all over again .

Same problem here but on a Mac. I found that killing the garmin plugin from the process table and reloading the page was enough. Usually on the second try it works, but sometimes a third try is needed.
