Nice job today! Maybe surprised even yourself?

Definitely surprised myself.... 2nd of 69 on GreenX today yet my best split was only 4th. Not fast at all, but no significant errors of any kind and I recognized trouble areas before I dove in and took longer, safer routes instead...

Yeah, congrats on the win. Fun to watch you watch the results and the finish line as the last guy who could still beat you failed to come in in time!

Great job out there Clint!

From the initial map reconnaissance through the first couple times I was out in the woods in the yellow area, I was rather concerned that it would be tough to create challenging advanced course legs / control placements in that section. I mean - there's lots of nice wide open linear features that folks can use in ski-O style (angle left on the big trail, take the second right, then beyond the second boulder). Orange will do well in there, everyone else will be a bit bored...

Boy was that wrong! I won't say that the course setter got misplaced a time or two while picking up control in that area, but it did take me considerably longer than I planned on before getting back to my truck. What had been fairly crisp open area edges with ferns in the open and leaves in the woods changed quite a bit in the last couple weeks.

yeah, take the vegetation off the deciduous stuff and the edges got much less distinct and some 'thin' spots you weren't always sure if they were mapped open or just less shrubby white woods.
