Makes me wonder what therapy our Congressmen get for continually kicking cans down the road.

Treatment may very well be the same, but I think the mechanism and effect are different from the classic turf toe, looking at the available videos. I think I'll go get it looked at. This is the toe that I injured in 1980, so it has limited mobility anyway. I'm pretty sure that is why it got hurt so much this time. It just can't get out of the way.

Trying to puzzle out exactly what happened - I think the mechanism was that the toe was forced sharply downward, spraining ligaments along the top. Wouldn't have been an issue for a normal toe that has some flexibility.
