| toddp: | Google Pedometer is a geeky tool for measuring workout distance. I can see that it has been mentioned in some discussions on Attackpoint before, but it so good, I'll toss it up again, in case anyone missed it. I like to zoom into the satellite photos of the parks where I run trails. |

| chitownclark: | Yeah, we tossed this subject around last October.
The message that I took away from the discussion was that there are at least three other mapping tools in addition to Gmaps: Map My Run Walk Jog Run And finally USATF, which is more than a route mapping tool. It is also a repository of ranked and mapped runs all over the country, with a handy search function that enables you to find an interesting run wherever you might be. For instance, the last time I was in Denver I heard of the Cherry Creek running path. But no one I asked knew much about it. Using the USATF website, I found a map and elevation profile of the running path within the database, printed it out, and had an nice run...far nicer than I normally have in a strange city. |

| bmay: | Ask for directions from St John's to Lisbon and you will see that it surely isn't taking the most direct route - but maybe it is taking the Gulf Stream into account! |

| vyc: | Nice tool.
Problem: you can zoom in really well only in some places, everywhere else it's only view from very high. At least in Vilnius. |

| Nadim: | It's great to use when on travel for work or pleasure. It can help you plan ahead as well as let you measure what you've run or bicycled. |
