where abouts does it start ?

about 100m up from the road there is a bend to the left going up and a gate to the right.

oh ok, so is it up to the trig point and straight back down ?

Not that simple. Up the initial hill then left and up the main path onto the moor then straight along the contouring path to just beyond the second valley then right and up small path to Trig. Last year they changed it to keep going with more contouring path then a right and diagonally up to summit from close to the end of the contouring path. From summit along straight path for about a mile then right and left at big path and though the terrain on a very small indistinct path for 400m to edge of the wood. Then down the big path still on the moor to hit the initial path and the final rough decent the same as going up.
