CSU Bowling is organizing the second North American Bowling Orienteering Club Championships on Saturday April 26 following the DVOA relay event. Location and time to be determined and announced at least a week in advance (the "MNOC" rule).
The rules are simple: teams of 2-3 club members will bowl one game of ten-pin bowling at the competition, and the sum of the largest two scores will determine the score for that club team. Clubs may field multiple teams. The reigning champions are the Chicago Area Orienteering Club, who decisively finished first and second in the
inaugural competition last year.
The national governing body at length deliberated the proposed rule change about team sizes and after much contentious debate voted unanimously to approve. Last year, the top three scores from teams of up to four members counted; this year, the top two scores from teams of up to three will count to match the change in the US Relay championships. A rule was proposed to use beverage consumption before the competition to match the "points" handicap for the relay champs, but this rule has not been adopted for this year's competition.
