AP now shows and individual's ranking points earned for an event on the Split List page for that event--Thanks again Kenny.

these points are calculated periodically every day or two. in the mean time, gray values (see yesterday's FCE for example) are estimates calculated from the course score without recalculating the whole rankings. if they're not re-runs, they will turn white the next time we recalculate.

you can also see your event points on the userprofile page.

I love it!

Just one question - for the events that have rolled out of the current rankings, how are the event points computed? Were they the points as of the last relevant iteration?

the event points freeze after an event is two months old, that way the results are mostly driven by prior events (as we're accustomed to thinking about the rolling rankings), and people get time to enter their splits.

originally, I had it as you guessed, but then it's entirely the opposite effect and the output seems a bit strange, especially in comparison to the daily history of the 365-day rankings (which I am currently tracking, but not yet displaying anywhere on the site)

one side effect is that events may have different point values than on the rankings page, but that's just because they were calculated for different periods. also, a semi-related addition is that you can now choose from previous calendar years for periods on the rankings page.

Another improvement (on the Rankings page) which I believe is new is the ability to see how rankings change relative to race distance. With all the sprint races this year, rankings are definately different between short and long events. The choices are:

1. All Races
2. Short <3.5k
3. Middle 3.5-6k
4. Classic 6-12k
5. Long >12k
