MJ Stout>>What do you mean by that? It seems like there is a ton of controversy surrounding the process in Great Britain, which is why they had to re-open the selections.

the process that governs the process seems to be working, the process itself failed miserably!

BOF announced revised team yesterday, and they are now taking 6 women. Pity they couldn't have selected 6 in the first place, but better late than never.

Indeed, we're now sending more juniors to international races than ever before, and more than any other country.

Well, actually we already were doing that, but now its 3 more. Although bizarrely still not including the guy whose protest was upheld!

I can't tell whether you agree with this or not Graeme (I've not read Nopesport for over a week). Given that we have most of the things domestically that Scandiland and Switzerland have (great coaching, excellent terrain), but not an enormous number of really high level events to attend, I think this is an unsurprising statistic.

I'm not expressing an opinion, just stating some facts which I find interesting, but neither side of the argument have mentioned.

Obviously I'm delighted for the juniors I know who made it (Chris, Alex, Emma), and disappointed for those who didn't (Daniel & Tam). But I haven't studied the form enough to have a view on whether the selections were unfair.

and I'm committed to changing that not an enormous number of really high level events stat too :).

Indeed. I did notice you mention that same thing on Nopesport a wee while ago but everyone just passing by without comment!

I really wish I could come to Race The Castles :(

I actually don't know any of the Juniors now, but I know from my Dad that there's a lot of potential and I'm not happy about the idea of taking half teams to JWOC. Couldn't even begin to comment on the actual choices.

What about USa?

I don't think USA send anyone to JEC or EYOC...

Canada is about as international to the USA as Ireland is to the UK, or NZ to Oz... is it not?

You can drive from the USA to Canada...

There are no equivalents of the EYOC and JEC outside of Europe, so GBR and other European countries are very fortunate Graeme that there are additional international events that they CAN send their juniors to. For AUS & NZ there's just an annual inter-school match and a bi-annual Aust/NZ match. We'd love to have our juniors competing against the top Europeans more than once a year!

The USA will have representation at EYOC this year...

We're not running the official EYOC races though, we're running the accompanying open races.
