Discussion: QBIII - Day 1 and Day 2 - Routegadget available

Day1 - a bush sprint at Brummagen Creek, on the Mitchell Highway between Dubbo and Narromine:

Day2 - long distance day at Sappa Bulga on "Malang" - the same area was used for JWOC in 2007

I am keen to use this facility but need some guidance - I use a Mac and can load the map OK and see others routes but having problems getting my garmin gps to upload - I have it recorded in my AP training log - can I import it direct from there?? Or is there a user guide for people like me that are novices??

if you have your track as a gpx file

go to routegadget
click "gps upload" - top right of screen
select "course" and "name" from dropdown lists
browse to & select gpx file, OK
if I have got the georeferenceing right the track should load in the right place on the map, and routegadget will fit the controls (& splits) & track together.


I have grabbed the gpx track from your AP log and loaded it as a trial:
BB course - Day2 - "load animation" and "start" for the wobbly first leg.
now I know it works!

Thanks for the instructions - worked well in getting my day 1 track up as well - will Day 3 be put up as well? As an aside, does it cost to do this or is it just time/computer capacity?

Day 3 will go up when I get the data files.

routegadget was written some years ago by Jagge as a "web utility for competitors to draw and compare their routes... free for non commercial orienteering related use". He recently updated it, to remove Java which was causing problems with security requirements.
