Sergey:
Please let me know if you would like to be in the NAOL Committee!

We need serious athletes who would participate in the committee work governing NAOL rules and selecting events for the season. We would like to have 2-3 from both Canada and USA. So far Sergey Velichko represents the USA and Mike Waddington represents Canada. Non-citizens are very welcome!

Please help us to shape the future of elite Orienteering in the North America.

Respectfully,
Sergey

Ruling by committee is the worst way of operating in a small organization.

Why don't the two of you work out all the details, send proposals to the teams, gather feedback, and then have the ESC approve or not approve, and whatever the Canadian equivalent of the ESC is do the same thing?

We need ideas at this point about country and relay point system. We think we defined something and will post it shortly at the NAOL web site. The feedback of elite community will be much appreciated.

Since the relay format at all the US relay events,is a unconventional one and does not offer a real way of comparisson between the teams,as the IOF format,I sugest that if one (or more ) relay events will be included in the NAOL,each country should be aloud to enter a # of elite teams ,but in the IOF format (3 person team) and find a way to start them in the regular event using the same courses as the rest of the teams,or make those events IOF standard and alow the clubs to mix their teams but keep the "national" teams ,as elite men&elite women for the orienteers who want to score in NAOL.The scoring, for the relay should be awarded in such manner to encourage teams from both countries to attend. What I would suggest,is: Each member of the team would get the same score and the score table shold be a little diff. than the inividual races.Ex.: 1 st.=30 p.(each member)
2 nd.=25 p.
3 rd.=21 p.
4 th.=18 p.
5 th.=16 p.
6 th.=15 p.
and if there are more than six teams,it goes in one point down every next position.
