One guy who used to be a postdoc in our lab (Larsson) and grad student from the naibouring lab in Cornell ( Keegan). Both are good runners, much better than myself.

One more thing... I noticed that Anita Liepina from Latvia will be participating. We went to the same highschool together and when she started to do orienteering I helped her to get started, mentored her on occasions. Could you look her up and give her my Email address, please!!!

Another Latvian I spent time together competing and at training camps was Alida Abola but I highly doubt she would remember me. I do remember her since she was most dominant female orienteer not just in Latvia but she had few U.S.S.R. championship titles.

From other Latvians I recall name Peteris Ledins but I do not recall much about him. Volli Kukk represents Latvia but his is Estonian native who married Ruta Kukka. I do remember them since it was such an unusual occurrence but I never hang out with them.

I find it interesting that even after I left Latvian orienteering scene about 25 years ago I still recognize lots of names from the list. Now I wish Word's were closer to NY.

Thanks much Gil! I will try to find Anita there.
BTW. South Dakota is a little bit closer to NY than Finland (World 2015) ;-)

I was thinking about that but it is still long, long, long round trip just to say hi... and not like they will have time to socialize anyway...
