I'm still curious if there indeed was something like a pipeline buried under that road, or if it was a case of too much OCAD-clickage.

Yes, there was an aqueduct which we found and traveled on between 53 and 62.

I passed it between 34 and 72 and saw no signs of water or any type of canal, so mapping it like a trail (at least that part) would have been more accurate in my world.
