I guess I didn't know how much speed I was making up for with my wiley woods skills!)
Even when you're slow on this one you're fast.
For me, it was nice to have a meet where I didn't stop several times, stare at the map, scratch my head, try to figure if path I'm on is going east-west, north-south, realize that I'm not letting compass settle .... But I'm having a funny guilty feeling about not having to do any of that. It's like I cheated or something. What is orienteering if you don't break into a panic at least once or twice?
Congratulations -- you didn't just win you won be a lot! And you had some pretty good competitors too.
btw - I have seen a recommendation to drop back to orange to get a better flow at speed. So something like this is good on lots of levels. [Do white until you can run hard the whole way, do yellow until.. do Orange ...]
I always knew you were sandbagging
