The. I used RG2 to upload and when I replayed in the new RG I vapourised just before Simon G overtook me. I'll try again with the other new interface.
Have you considered the fact that it's not a computer problem and that maybe you did just vapourise? It's not entirely unheard of.
Funny that Pelaw Main rang a bell with me but I couldn't for the life of me place the area, not even when I looked at the map. It wasn't until I saw the map title that I realised it was last month's middle distance MTBO venue. Derr!
Undy, I have traced your gps track, fitting to the obvious track choices, but will delete your gps track - can you then reload it using Routegadget.
Can you also send me your gpx file so I can try to find out the reason for your disappearance on the animation.
Does Undy really exist or is he a figment of our imagination?
My guess is it was midnight and date changed in England during undy's run and RG2 doesn't handle it correctly.
Jagge, are you suggesting Undy's trace would suddenly appear in the British Champs RG from Saturday? I know there is another Andy Simpson who runs for Undy's old club in the UK but that would be quite something.
Date and time in gpx file is in UTC, not local time. When time goes past midnight Greenwich time animation may fail if timestamp's date part is ignored and only hours, minutes and seconds are used. I think the unlucky moment happens in the middle of the day in Australia depending on the time zone, so such bug may affect you more often.
Ah makes sense given we're currently UTC+10 and Andy had a 9.30 start.
Thanks rockman, Jagge.
Looks like its the UTC problem in RG2. We had the same issue with ROC (Radio Online Control) at the Sprint weekend - did all the testing in the evenings, but the race was in the morning when we were on +11hrs, so when we asked ROC for splits for today from the remote controls, it said "nothing to see here". Hard to diagnose mid-sprint relay.
I didn't spend too long getting the timing perfect, but using the RouteGadget version to configure the GPS track was a fair bit easier than RG2 (maybe I did something wrong in RG2), with the added bonus that I don't disappear (although that means Simon G beats me).
@rockman - can you make the latest Jagge version the version that the Garingal RouteGadget site links to ? At the moment it points at the Java version.
@undy - I will have to get the garingal web-wrangler to do that - I restrict myself to the routegadget pages only - any links I post or initiate should be to latest version of RG (eg results email)
- may be a couple of days before I can do much - this is being typed by torchlight on a re-rigged dial-up connection (was it really so slow?) - no power since Tuesday 4am, no indication of reconnection time, but fortunately no storm damage or injury.
