The University Team will be meeting in Miskolc, Hungary on Thursday, i.e. tomorrow, in preparation for the WUOC. They will have two days of training and model events before the event is officially opened on Saturday evening at the Opening Ceremonies.
Competition starts Sunday with the Sprint followed by the Long, Sprint Relay, Middle and Relay on consecutive days.

The OUSA Team of Tori Borish, Alison Campbell, Izzy Bryant, Evalin Brautigam, Giacomo Barbone, Michael Lararia, William Whitaker, George Grindley and Sam Jones have been training hard and are ready to go. Tori, Alison and Giacomo are National Team members and have competed at WOC; Izzy, Evalin and Michael have represented the US at JWOC. The team will represent OUSA well!

The Team has also been busy raising money to help defray their expenses, holding fundraisers at the spring A meets and an ongoing car magnet sale. Despite these efforts, each team member has had to pay in $588 toward their entries.

If you would be able to help out by making a donation that would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to purchase an 8" x 3" car magnet (see attached picture) you can order one by sending a check made out to "Orienteering USA" to Linda Kohn, 874 Edgemere Drive, Rochester, NY 14612. The car magnet will be mailed to you. If you make a donation of $20 or more via the OUSA website you automatically qualify for a magnet, just let Linda know that you sent the donation (include your address) via email (wornerkohn at gmail dot com) and the magnet will be mailed to you.

Follow the team live! http://www.wuoc2016.hu
Radio split times, GPS tracking of selected competitors, and speaker voice will be available online from the event website (http://www.wuoc2016.hu) free of charge. The start of live services for each day (for individual competitions, this is the closing time of the quarantine): Sprint: 10:00; Long Distance: 10:20; Sprint Relay 16:45; Middle Distance: 10:20; Relay: 9:45. Time is EDT +6hrs.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Good luck guys, will be there for the first 2 days as competing in the spectator event for the Hungarian 5 days.

I am sure it will be all very interesting but I am particularly keen on the sprint (WUOC day 1), as it will be in a really picturesque area (must be around the castle area) I knew well from when I was young, should be unusual as a sprint due to a lot of climb crammed into the courses.

Yeah, I was watching you going back round that big loop at the end and thought to myself that looked a bit... draining.

It was sad to see Jonathan Crickmore (UK) mispunch. Did he take the wrong fork by accident, or such? (I don't know whether they received the full course on one map, which might have been complicated, or if they had a map exchange near the finish/restart.)

Rather a good run from Damian K in the middle - cracking the top 30 in a pretty tough field.

Looks like Izzy and Evalin had strong finishes for the US with Tori very close behind. Michael led the US men (71) followed by Giacomo (77). Map looked very busy with lots of green slash.

The wormen's relay was led off by Tori (20), Izzy came in at (24) and Alison anchored the team to a 28th place finish. For the men it was Giacomo in the mass start (33), Michael ran the 2nd leg (38), Will anchored the team for a 35th place finish. Complete results can be found at http://liveresultat.orientering.se/followfull.php?...
Overall a tough competition for the team but a great effort!
