Last week to register for the Stockville! Final update, including a few minor gear modifications and some photos from the course, will hit
facebook in the next 48 hours.
We've also amended our decision not to allow solo racers. We've received a number of emails from folks making reasonably compelling arguments for why we should include a solo division at the Stockville. While we stand by our reasoning that the event will be safer in teams, we recognize that there is an inherent element of risk in our sport, and if solo racers are willing to assume that risk, we're open to reconsidering our policy. As one person aptly pointed out, cell phones have only existed for a couple decades; solo orienteering and rogaining ventures, much longer. We ask that those interested in racing solo send a brief racer resume to info@rootstockracing.org. We're not intending to turn anyone away, but we also want to make sure that people going out on the course alone are sufficiently equipped to do so.
