Discussion: OCAD 12 New Map Wizard Users Only, please

I am an OCAD 12 mapper and have just recently encountered a problem which is stopping me in my tracks. Has anyone else encountered this problem and did they find a fix?
As you will know with the New Map Wizard we import the desired section from Open Street Map and the New Map Wizard does the work of converting the OSM data to orienteering symbols AND strips out unnecessary data such as text.
So here is the new problem: As the program starts the conversion I get a message saying "Cannot read from ... and it gives a file name stating C:\users\ etc etc which indicates it is a temporary file on my hard drive, right? then it says XML document must have top level element

Then it gives me one choice OK which when clicked makes everything go away.
When I look through that file in my directory it is nowhere to be found. It was temporary, after all.
Now I can still start the map in OCAD 12 from Open Street Map just by importing the OSM file but anyone who has done both will know what a pain in the ass that is compared to using the New Map Wizard.
So does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix?

(Yes, I will eventually upgrade to OCAD 2019 but I'm not quite there, yet.)

Is it an issue specific to that computer? No I have OCAD 12 on two computers and both give the same :cannot read..." message
Is it a problem with Open Street Map? No I have the new map wizard on another computer running OCAD 2019 trial version and the wizard works fine there.
HELP! Ideas?

Gord at the end of the line below click on the 3 dots
This will take you to the file manager where you can select the location of the new map and the new map name.
C:\Users\edhic\AppData\Roaming\OCAD\OCAD 2018\Tmp\9C7D0BF7C769441A9FF954E67AFCD564.ocd . . .

The folder you see listed in one of the folders in the Ocad Program folder.
