Does anyone play this? It used to work but no longer appears to play for me and the website seems to be down. Does anyone have more info on if this is just a temporary issue or if the game is no longer supported.

Same for me. Playing Suunnistussimulaattori used to be my favourite winter training. Hope it's coming back soon.

Message (in Finnish) is seems to indicate web server maintenance break. I guess hosting provider has some issues.

Unfortunately it's being having a maintenance break for at least a week now. :-/

Developer is a friend of mine, he told he has been too busy to take a look at why it went down (apparently hosting provider migrated to a new envirobment and it did not go that well really). But certainly temporary issue.

Meanwhile you can watch synced headcam video battle between me and the developer.

Hopefully he will manage to fix it in the near future. At least it's good to know it should get fixed.

The synced headcam video look cool.

Thanks Jagge! Where is that? It looks a bit like Swedish terrain: nice open woods, low blueberries and other plants, some prominent features to keep you on course.

Tapio:
It's in Sipoo, Finland, as it says on the videos.

Finland vs Sweden was quite obvious: The map drawing was very typical for Finland while I have never run on any Swedish map drawn like that, particularly the bare rock features.

Finland vs Sweden over mapping bare rock?
That was a debate when I was on IOF forty years ago. Is it still going on? I think the rest of the world has decided long ago in Finland's favour .

Thanks Tapio. I've been to Porvoo, Espoo...but never Sipoo.

And another tell-tale that was Finland: Emit.

Might be the right time now to bring Suunnistussimulaattori back...
