The park is still closed and unlikely to open today. Search personnel are still arriving at the park and the suicidal person’s family has just entered the park. Our thoughts are with them and all involved.

We are PROVISIONALLY moving today’s meet at Sweetwater Creek State Park to tomorrow, Monday, Jan 18th.

This is PROVISIONAL and dependent upon the park being open and able to accommodate us. We will confirm this as soon as possible.

The Middle Courses at Dauset Trails will be open tomorrow as well, in any case.

Anyone that wants to run their course at Sweetwater and also at Dauset Trails is welcome to do so. Generally speaking, it would be better to run first at Sweetwater and then at Dauset. We will keep the starts at Dauset Trails open until 3 pm. Anyone who is running at Dauset Trails will be given an earlier start time for Sweetwater, upon request. Anyone who wants to start at their assigned start time at Dauset Trails can still do so. Anyone who runs at Sweetwater first is welcome to start at Dauset Trails whenever they arrive and are ready to start.

If anyone wants to cancel their remaining Sweetwater entry or Dauset Trails entry, they are welcome to do so for a refund. Please request this by email ASAP but no later than 6 pm today so that we can compress the start list. This will allow people to start earlier at Sweetwater so that running in the afternoon at Dauset Trails is more feasible.

If anyone is looking for an orienteering activity for today, there is a permanent course at Red Top Mountain State Park. Maps are available at the Visitor Center. It is a very nice park.

We are very sorry that it has come to this, but this eventuality was of course unforeseen and unavoidable.

You are doing an amazing job - way above our expectation! Can't imagine how hard it must for you to make this work and accommodate everyone! Thank you!

Start times are now posted.

Again, we are very sorry that we had to postpone today’s races at Sweetwater until tomorrow.

If you have already cancelled one or more entries for tomorrow, please check the start lists to make sure you have been removed.

We have tried to accommodate all the start time requests as best we can. If you are running both at Sweetwater and at Dauset Trails, your earlier start time is the most important. Please try to make the second start time, but if you can’t, just try not to be too late. Given the response and the number of entries at each venue, we want to close the Sweetwater starts around 1 pm and the Dauset Trails starts before 2 pm, if possible. If you are running late, please call the Meet Director. If you have a late start at Dauset Trails and arrive early, please just ask to start early, if you want to do so.

If you see a problem with the assigned start times, please contact me directly. There is plenty of scope for mistakes!
