I am not all that fast. For example I started yesterday around 8000 and went to 10880 feet in 6 miles. Up was slow down was fast. 7 hrs. with 20 min for lunch.

Looking for someone to do this race with me. I am planning on doing 7 to 9 hrs. on the first loop and then get some sleep. Do another 7 hrs. in the morning.

I can pay for your registration and have a local camp site for the week prior to the event.

Planning to do the Nav-x 100 lakes 6 hr. a few days before the 24 hr. and can provide transportation there if you want.

Thanks,
Sage

I might be a fit. I am pretty good at the navigation (I’ve been orienteering since 1975) but am old and slow. I did manage to get around ok in 2 shorter rogaines recently (almost all walking, a tiny bit of slow jogging), a 7 hour in Pennsylvania last month and a 12 hour in Indiana last fall. I’ve attempted 24 hours twice. The first time, 3 years ago, I managed to stay on the go about 20 of the 24 hours (during which the GPS said we covered 58 km); my partner just about had to carry me in the last few km. The second “24”, it turned out that my partner and I were particularly well matched: We both got through 10 hours pretty efficiently, getting some of the more difficult controls, but then we both fell apart, barely dragged ourselves in at about 11 hours, and called that good enough.

With that history, and having put on 20 lbs during the pandemic, I signed up for the 4 hour rogaine at Tahoe. But your proposed schedule for the 24, two mostly-daytime shifts on the go sandwiched around some sleep, sounds like something I might be able to handle.

If interested in further exploring the possibility of teaming up, and if you don’t have a better offer (I won’t be offended in the least if you turn elsewhere), contact me via the email address in my Attackpoint profile (you can see it by clicking “o-maps” while logged into AP). I don’t see an email or other contact info in your profile.
