A personal thanks to everyone involved in a great weekend of fun and competitive racing. The maps were amazing, the courses were excellent, the weather was interesting but bearable, and the people were the absolute best.

AND especially the ~70 volunteers from QOC and other clubs without whom the weekend would not have gone so smoothly or been so successful and fun.
A special thanks to Jon Torrance and Ted Good for excellent brand-new/updated maps! and to Ted Good and Nadim Ahmed for challenging, extremely enjoyable, and expertly designed courses!
It was an exciting couple days of racing with so many excellent and elite national and international orienteers. Many of the US National Team members (current and former) from Eilte, Performance, and Junior Squads had exciting and competitive races. There were great performances and extremely tight finishes among the best of the best...and in multiple age groups too.
AND a huge thanks to all the nearly 300 participants! It was great to see so many familiar faces and great conversations between old and new friends.
Everyone who participated in any/every way helped contribute to what I think turned out to be a championship-caliber event in our favorite back-yard (personal-selfish bonus of being able to sleep in my own bed.)
Thank you QOC for hosting and for the cool gift(s). and thank you to everyone who travelled and represented (BGR, CAOC, COC, COK, COO, CSU, CVOC, DVOA, EMPO, GAOC, GPHXO, HVO, LROC, MVOC, NEOC, OCIN, OK, OLOU, OOC, PTOC, RMOC, ROC, UNO, USMAOC, WCOC, and others from NJROTC or unidentified clubs.)
I tried to make a 'Romp' in the woods pun to close, but they all seemed pretty cheesy...but Royal is at least the class/level of adjective that would be a solid fit for how well the weekend turned out, imo. THANK YOU EVERYONE!.

I’ll add that the maps wouldn’t have been printed, trimmed, stuffed and sealed without my husband, Roger Meyer and Sandy Fillebrown from DVOA. This joker needed all the help she could get to keep sane the last two days.
Sandy was also the fourth member of the timing team, making for a team made up of four Aces.

What an amazing, challenging and fun weekend. Thank you to everyone who got this off the ground and made it happen.

I'll add my thanks for a great event. This spring finally feels like a "real" orienteering season after a three-year break, with almost too-much travel up & down the eastern seaboard plus a few flights for O-trips!
A self-admitted map snob, I enjoyed the mapping for both days. I can appreciate the time and effort it took to make such detailed mapping of vegetation and deadfall. It was great to be in white woods on the map that were actually open & runnable. Too often, white becomes a catch-all for "not feeling like mapping the detail that's actually here..." I didn't see a single instance of that this weekend--absolutely incredible. Thanks Jon T for the map and Ted & Nadim for touch-ups.
And, hats off to the course setters who made good use of that detail. You could run through junk if you wanted to, or you could read the detail or do some heads-up running and avoid the junky stuff. Awesome. Thanks Ted & Nadim, and the unknown (to me) vetters & course consultant(s).
And the printing was clear and readable. Thank you. The QR-code right on the corner of the map taking you to live results is an interesting idea--probably one OUSA should publish as a "great idea to copy" if not even a "best practice."
And, I'd love to see more clubs emulate QOC and do a "grab-and-go" or self-service awards when it is appropriate.
