October 25 & 26, 2014

THREE ORIENTEERING MEETS IN TWO DAYS

25 October 2014 at Rough River Dam State Resort Park, a Kentucky State Park

Daytime Meet – Classic Format – controls have to be done in order

Starts: 11:00 – 1:00 PM Louisville Time (10:00 – 12:00 Local Time)

Course Statistics:

Yellow – 16 controls, 3.73 KM, climb 52M
Orange – 16 controls, 4.58 KM, climb 153M
Brown – 13 controls, 3.47 KM, climb 84M
Green – 15 controls, 5.33 KM, climb 186M
Red – 18 controls, 6.42 KM, climb 179M



Standard Costs for this meet: $7 plus $1 to rent a finger stick for members and students, $10 plus $1 rental for non-members.



Two Short Night Courses (Saturday Night)

Night Time Meet – Controls have to be done in order
(You will need a flashlight and/or headlamp)

Starts: Civil Sunset for about 2 hours

Course Statistics:

Night 1 – 7 controls, 1.74 KM, climb 33M
Night 2 – 7 controls, 1.86 KM, climb 42M


Costs for this meet: $4 for members and students, $6 for non-members.

Same start and finish location as daytime meet.

26 October 2014 at Rough River Dam State Resort Park, a Kentucky State Park

Sunday Meet Format – Modified Ultra Long – Controls have to be done in order

Start: Mass Start at 10:00 Louisville Time (9:00 Local Time)

Course Statistics:

½ Ultra Long East – 16 controls, 5.24 KM, climb 153M
½ Ultra Long West – 14 controls, 4.97 KM, climb 96M
Ultra Long - 30 controls, 10.21 KM, climb 249M

This Ultra Long is a long course that features a map exchange. Due to the number of controls, you will need to download before beginning Map 2. Do this when turning in the first map and picking up Map 2. Before you begin on Map 2 make sure you clear, check & start. Do not skip any controls.

The 1/2 Ultra long East is a course that stays on the east side of Highway 79. The ½ Ultra Long West is a course that stays mostly on the west side of Highway 79.

Other Facts:

Start location is the same as Saturday’s Meets.

Everyone should be off the course by 2:00 Louisville Time, Control Pickup starts no later than 2:00PM.
