The Orienteering Illini presents the final local event of the semester next Sunday (Nov 8). This time we will be at Parkland College. This map, which includes the sprawling Dodds Park, has only been used once before.

It's an interesting map because it is so wide open, yet the terrain rolls enough that most control flags will not be visible from far distances. Sometimes maps like this induce runners into a false sense of confidence. But since the finish times will be fast, competitive runners will have little margin of error when it comes to mistakes. Exact navigating will critical.

Sound like fun? There will be two courses. As of this writing the plan is to have only a minimal amount of overlap between the courses, in order to tempt people to do both courses.

The times are the usual. Start times are between 1 pm and 3 pm. The start location, parking locations, and directions of using buses can be found in the following link:
